Gretchen is a woman who previously dated Charlie Harper and Alan Harper. She only appears in "The Immortal Mr. Billy Joel".

She previously had a one-night stand with Charlie.
She meets Alan in a bar and he introduces himself as Charlie, something she knew wasn't true but played along with and he invites her home. At the house, he performs on the piano for her before she tells him that she already knows the beach-house, having been with Charlie. She then asks him who he really is, as he reveals he's Charlie's brother Alan and offers to take her home. However, she is still interested and reveals she likes the role playing like he was as Charlie but says her style scared Charlie and Alan becomes interest. Before sex, Alan asks her why Charlie was freaked out until she appears in clad bondage in the form of a German nightmare. Though perturbed, Alan continues the encounter and was left with a mustache.
