Laurel is the mother of Lily. She has an ex-husband whom she divorced after he cheated on her with their babysitter. InSex With an Animated Ed Asner When Walden and Alan pretended to be a gay couple (to adopt Louis) they met and became friends. She along with Julie and Danielle started coming over to the beach house for a playdate with their respective children as well as a drink on the deck. When her friends and Alan decide to have a "Girl's night" Louis gets sick so Walden decides to stay at home to make sure he's okay. Laurel later comes by to drop off some soup for Louis and a bottle of wine for her and Walden. After some drinking and flirting and drinking they make out which she pulls away from at first because of Walden's marriage to Alan, only for Walden to reveal that he isn't gay and that he and Alan only got married so they could adopt Louis. Laurel sees this as sweet and they continue making out. As they get ready to have sex Walden goes to check on Louis and ends up falling asleep which Laurel accepts.
In Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy Lyndsey she and Walden try to have sex at the beach house but they can't because of Walden's fear that Louis will catch them in the act. They get a hotel room and as they are about to have sex they get into a heated argument that turns into angry sex.
Laurel makes her final appearance in Here I Come, Pants! when she and Walden are together in bed and Walden goes down to get her coffee when she says that in exchange she'll tell him about a sexual experience she had on a high school field trip and enticed him by saying that her school was for girls only. After the unexpected arrival of Ms. McMartin Laurel comes down, inadvertently revealing that Walden and Alan's marriage is a sham.
