He then mentions that he asked Laura why she did it, and she replies with ‘Ask Charlie’. Charlie starts to explain the statement to Alan, but instead runs away with Alan runningafter him after waiting a few seconds. No Sniffing, No Wowing is the 21st episode of Season 1. It originally aired on May 3, 2004.
Charlie and Alan meet with Laura Lang, Alan’s divorce attorney. While waiting, Charlie hits on Laura's assistant, which Alan tells him to knock it off. Charlie says that Alan shouldn't have gotten married. Alan replies that if he hadn't, Jake wouldn't exist with Charlie saying he didn't say he couldn't knock her up. When Laura shows up, Charlie tries to hit on her to no avail. She states that Charlie’s lifestyle might be a problem for Alan’s custody of Jake, Judith as was not willing to let Jake stay at the Beach House. She asks Charlie to gather all the things he thinks might be used against him, and then call her all the while Charlie tries to impress her assistant with his beach house.
Charlie calls her, but ends up sleeping with her, though strictly advised not to by Alan. Though both don’t like each other, they certainly do want each other, and Laura requests Charlie to be there for her whenever she needs him. Charlie continues with the agreement, with Alan being oblivious to the situation. Laura starts to mess with Charlie at bad moments, starting with touching him when they and Alan met with Judith and her lawyer.
Due to her good defense, Laura manages to make Judith drop Jake’s custody issue. Some matters, such as a set of expensive books and a massage chair. Just then, Charlie walks in with Laura’s assistant Crystal, who had taken a day off citing that she had flu. Laura asks Charlie to have sex with her at the spot, but he refuses. Laura leaves, citing that Charlie will be sorry.
