Tucked, Taped and Gorgeous is the 21st episode of season 4. It aired on April 23, 2007.
Alan and Charlie re-examine their sexual identities after Alan befriends Greg (a gay man, played by Matt Roth) from a single parents support group that he has been going to, and everyone thinks he is dating Greg and "coming out of the closet". Meanwhile, Jake has a crush on Greg's daughter Sophie, but doesn't know how to appeal on his new love.
Plot[]
While attending a single parents' meeting group, Alan befriended the charming, divorced Greg, whose daughter Sophie gets along great with Jake. Alan introduces him to Charlie. Greg then reveals after twelve years, his marriage ended because he was gay. Charlie then repeatedly tries to make him understand he's straight. Charlie questions Alan on what he knows about Greg, learning he already knows he's gay. Alan tells Charlie he, Greg and their kids are going on Greg's boat Sunday, which makes Charlie respond with "Does he want to take you sailing or does he want to take you saillllliiiinnng?" Sophie then tries to get Jake to kiss her but he just touches her lip and tastes her lip gloss, which he likes. Charlie tells Alan he may likely want him because no sane successful straight man would be friends with Alan. Alan then starts to claim Charlie's gay because of his personality, the fact he has multiple body washes and moistures, and he almost slept with a man that looked like a woman. He also insults him by saying he puts on sunscreen when reaching out to get the mail. Jake is driving home with his mom and says he thinks Alan is gay, surprising Judith to the point of running a red light. When Alan goes to pick up Jake to head to the movies with him, Greg and Sophie, Judith congratulates him. She also told his mom, because they had a bet, who was also happy. Alan gets complimented by her which makes him glad. Berta also congratulates him, saying that by finding out if he's "the pin or the cushion" the world's a better place. Charlie goes as far as consulting he, Jake and Alan's shrink Dr. Linda Freeman to be reassured about his beloved straight sexuality. Alan tells Charlie if everyone's happy thinking he's gay, then he must be. Charlie then states neither of them is gay and nobody's gay, Alan says that last line as a question and Charlie responds not in his house they aren't. Alan decides to put his gay theory to the test. While dropping off Greg after their single parent's meeting, Alan kisses him. Greg's confuse and tries to get answers from Alan. After being questioned by Greg, Alan realizes besides George Clooney, he doesn't find any man sexually attractive. Alan then admits he believes he's letting many people down. Greg than admits he likes Charlie, upsetting Alan. Alan then drives off in a fit. While with Charlie and Alan at the beach house, Jake throws out the idea of pancake flavored lip gloss, confusing Charlie and Alan.
