Two and a Half Men is an American television sitcom that aired on CBS, the series was created by Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn, it stars Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer, Ashton Kutcher, Angus T. Jones, Amber Tamblyn, and Edan Alexander, it first aired on September 22, 2003, and concluded on February 19, 2015 through a twelve season course. The show was revamped after Charlie Sheen was fired from the show. The ninth season premiered on September 19, 2011 with Sheen's character being killed off and being replaced with a new character being portrayed by Ashton Kutcher. As of the eleventh season, Angus T. Jones was cut from the series and was replaced by Amber Tamblyn, who portrays the lesbian daughter of Sheen's character. Other main credits have included Conchata Ferrell, Holland Taylor, Marin Hinkle, Melanie Lynskey, Jennifer Bini Taylor and April Bowlby.
Holland Taylor and Marin Hinkle have been credited as main characters in every season of the series, being the only ones excluding Jon Cryer. In the tenth season, Holland Taylor and Marin Hinkle were each credited as main, but both only made one brief appearance, Hinkle continued the 1 episode theme in the eleventh season, while Taylor made 4 fairly major appearances.
Conchata Ferrell was a major recurring character in the first season, and since season 2, she has been the most major character who isn't in the title, with the exception of season 7. In season 11, she appeared in every episode.
April Bowlby and Jennifer Bini Taylor were credited as main characters for one season each, both taking major recurring roles the previous season. Bowlby was a main character in the forth season, her last appearance of the season she was credited as a guest, although being credited as main, she only made 5 appearances, less than the nine appearances in season 3. Jennifer Bini Taylor was credited as main in the seventh season, and the most major regular who wasn't in the title.
Melanie Lynskey was credited as a main character during the first 2 seasons. She was downgraded to a recurring status in season 3. She only made one appearance in each the seventh and eleventh seasons.
Plot and series overview

The series revolved initially around the life of the Harper brothers Charlie and Alan, and his son Jake. He is a bachelor who writes commercial jingles for a living while leading a hedonistic lifestyle. When Alan's wife, Judith, decides to divorce him, he moves into Charlie's Malibu beach house (due to Charlie's selfishly scorning Alan's female divorce-lawyer) with Jake coming to stay over the weekends. Charlie's housekeeper is Berta (Conchata Ferrell), a sharp-tongued woman who initially resists the change to the household, but grudgingly accepts it. Charlie's one-night stand Rose (Melanie Lynskey) was first introduced as his stalker in the pilot episode.
Seasons 1-5 (2003-2008)
The first five seasons find Charlie in casual sexual relationships with numerous women until the sixth season, when he becomes engaged to Chelsea, but the relationship does not last as Chelsea breaks off their engagement.
Seasons 1-8 (2003-2011)
After his wife Judith divorces him, Alan Harper moves in with his jingle writer brother, Charlie Harper in his Malibu Beach House with Alan's growing son, Jake staying on weekends. Meanwhile, Charlie is in casual sexual relationships with numerous women until the sixth season as he becomes engaged to Chelsea but she breaks it off. Charlie then flies to Paris in the eighth season finale in the pursuit of Rose who is first introduced as a stalker.
Seasons 8-9 (2010-2012)
Afterwards, Charlie flies to Paris in the show's de facto eighth-season finale with his stalker Rose. However, in the ninth-season premiere, Charlie was said to have died after he fell in front of a Paris subway train. Suggestions were made that Rose pushed Charlie into the train's path after learning that he had cheated on her.
Seasons 9-10 (2011-2013)
It is revealed that Charlie has been killed in Paris offscreen, as he "slipped" in the front of a moving train as Alan suspects that it was Rose that pushed him since he cheated on her with a girl in the shower. Evelyn puts his beach house up for sale since it has three mortgages, and Alan has nowhere else to live. Alan is about to spread Charlie's ashes over on the beach, but an internet billionaire named Walden Schmidt startles Alan. Alan helps Walden as he tried to commit suicide in the ocean since he is going through a bad divorce with his wife, Bridget. Walden then decides to buy the beach house and Alan also becomes his roommate. Meanwhile, Jake is now a teenager, he then graduates high school and he decides to join the Army.
Season 11 (2013-2014)
A woman shows up to the Beach House and claims she is Charlie's long-lost daughter, Jenny Harper as Charlie kept her as a secret and the last time she saw him was at her 4th birthday party. She soon moves in with Walden and Alan, they soon find out that she is a lesbian and is just like her father. Meanwhile, Walden is still looking for a relationship but hasn't find a good woman yet. Alan and Lindsey start having secret sex and when Lindsey's new boyfriend, Larry is not around. In the 11th season, a young woman arrives at the beach house, announcing that she is Charlie Harper's biological daughter, Jenny (Amber Tamblyn). She moves in with Walden and Alan, later displaying many of Charlie's traits, including a love of women and alcohol. Lyndsey begins dating a man named Larry (D. B. Sweeney), and in an attempt to learn more about Larry, Alan takes on the pseudonym "Jeff Strongman". His double-life becomes complicated when "Jeff" begins dating Larry's sister, Gretchen (Kimberly Williams-Paisley).
Season 12 (2014-2015)
Walden is faced with a health scare on halloween, and decides he will marry Alan to adopt a child, as it is easier to adopt as a couple. In the 12th season, Walden decides to reprioritize his life after a health scare by deciding to adopt a baby. He realizes that the only way to do this is to be married, but does not know anyone who will do it, so he asks Alan to marry him and pretend that they are a gay couple, thus ensuring success at adopting. Jenny moves out of the house and moves in with Evelyn due to Walden and Alan preparing to adopt. They adopt an African American child, Louis (Edan Alexander), and subsequently divorce to pursue relationships with women. Alan proposes to Lyndsey a second time, and she accepts, while Walden begins a relationship with Louis' social worker, Ms. McMartin (Maggie Lawson). Charlie is revealed to be still alive, having been kept prisoner by Rose until escaping, but he is killed before he can reunite with Walden and Alan.

Crossover with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
CSI's episode Two and a Half Deaths serve as cross-over with Two and a Half Men's episode "Fish in a Drawer". The writers of the respective shows swapped, and Sheen, Cryer and Jones appeared in Two and a Half Deaths in a cameo, while George Eads (a main cast member of CSI) cameoed in Fish In A Drawer.
Due Date
Ethan Tremblay (played by Zach Galifianakis in the 2010 film Due Date) plays Jake's tutor Stu at the end of the film. Sheen, Cryer and Jones (deleted scene
only) all make cameo in the scene.
The Simpsons
Homer Simpson switches on the T.V. and watches a cartoonized version of Two and a Half Men, with Sheen, Cryer and Jones appearing in it.
Family Guy
Sheen, Cryer and Jones appear in an episode in a cartoonized version, with Sheen providing voice as himself.
Mexican commercial

From September 6, 2010, to November 24, 2017, FX aired the series daily nationwide. The series began airing on Viacom-owned networks Nick at Nite and Paramount Network in December 2017, and IFC on January 1, 2018, and it was began airing on TV Land on July 3, 2018.
